Crispy Rice Burger with Gochugaru Mayo
A street food-style creation that’s crunchy, spicy, and packed with texture.
Ingredients (makes 2 rice burgers):
For Rice Buns:
- 
2 cups warm cooked sushi rice 
- 
1 tsp sesame oil 
- 
½ tsp salt 
- 
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds 
Filling Options:
- 
Grilled tofu, chicken, or beef (soy + garlic seasoning) 
- 
Lettuce leaves 
- 
Sliced cucumber 
- 
Pickled radish or carrot 
- 
Avocado (optional) 
- 
Nori sheet (optional) 
4 tbsp Gochugaru Mayo
Instructions
- 
Form rice buns: Mix rice with oil, salt, and sesame. Shape into 4 firm discs using cling wrap or wet hands. 
- 
Crisp them up: Grill or pan-fry buns until lightly golden and crisp (2–3 min per side). 
- 
Assemble: Spread Gochugaru Mayo on one bun. Add protein, veggies, nori, and more mayo if you like. 
- 
Top and wrap: Place second bun on top. Wrap in parchment or seaweed for easy handling. 
Pro tip: Serve warm while rice buns are still crisp.
